Defense Grid: The Awakening - My Favorite Standalone Tower Defense So Far

My review of Defense Grid: The Awakening, a great tower defense game with solid design, lots of content, and much-appreciated challenges and difficulty.

My review about Atom Zombie Smasher. I really enjoyed the gameplay but I have doubts about the game's replayability and staying power.

Cthulhu Saves the World and Breath of Death VII Reviewed: Great RPGs

My dual reviews of Cthulhu Saves the World and Breath of Death VII, two great retro RPGs available as a bundle. Cthulhu, which was developed second, is undoubtedly the better game, but Breath of Death is worth playing too.

Tech Tales

The 11th and final day of the Steam summer sale is upon us. This is your last chance to purchase the discounted games or packs. As with earlier Steam summer/holiday sales, the final day has been reserved for second runs of the most popular daily deals from previous days.

Unfortunately, there are no new prize tickets available, leaving today for earning earlier tickets. I am currently at 49 tickets and will probably end up with 50 tickets (I still need to complete the Magicka achievement). There are only 6 prizes left to redeem and I do not own any of the games involved, so at this point I'm just going for extra contest entries. Sometime after the sale ends I'll be writing some final posts on the prize booth tickets and prizes, which games I purchased, etc.

Below you can see today's list of daily deals, including five franchise sales and three "DLC Too" sales. The difference between those two seems to be completely arbitrary. I own almost all of these games either from the sale or earlier purchases. I can personally recommend Portal 2, Just Cause 2, Grand Theft Auto IV, Warhammer 40k, Magicka, The Witcher 2, Borderlands, Terraria, and Fallout: New Vegas. Battlefield BC2, Assassin's Creed, and Total War are also good choices but I haven't played them yet myself. I don't really have any opinion on Two Worlds 2 (though the first one was awful) or Fable 3 (I've only played Fable).
