Cthulhu Saves the World and Breath of Death VII Reviewed: Great RPGs

My dual reviews of Cthulhu Saves the World and Breath of Death VII, two great retro RPGs available as a bundle. Cthulhu, which was developed second, is undoubtedly the better game, but Breath of Death is worth playing too.

Tech Tales

Google today added games to Google+, starting with a selection of 12 games from various developers. Games and activity within them are currently separated into the "Games" tab instead of cluttering the standard stream, thankfully. With a supposed focus on "quality over quantity" for the games, maybe Google+ can avoid the endless churn of terrible social games that infests Facebook. Oh, look, Zynga Poker. Too late.

The Games feature is being rolled out slowly, and perhaps a bit haphazardly. Earlier today I had access to the games, no I do not. I only had a chance to play some Angry Birds, a game that is actually a game, not an transparent exercise in extracting premium currency from gullible users who want to farm even more useless crops. If Bejeweled Blitz is similar (or the same as) to the Facebook version, that will be a real, solid game as well. Dragon Age Legends is also included. I don't really enjoy it, but it is the best "social" game I've seen. Despite suffering from the same issues that come from prioritizing extracting money over making a good game, Legends does actually have real gameplay instead of mindless clicking.

Aside from Sudoku (but not that specific version) I'm not familiar with any of the other games. Once I have access again I'll probably try them out, fully expecting to last 5-10 minutes before quitting in disgust. If I actually enjoy any of them I'll have a pleasant surprise.

On the subject of Google+, I do have an account there, obviously, but I have not really begun to use it yet. That may change in coming weeks, but for now I'm mostly just following a few other people on it.
