Cthulhu Saves the World and Breath of Death VII Reviewed: Great RPGs

My dual reviews of Cthulhu Saves the World and Breath of Death VII, two great retro RPGs available as a bundle. Cthulhu, which was developed second, is undoubtedly the better game, but Breath of Death is worth playing too.

Tech Tales

Just in time to ruin your recovering bank account, Steam has launched a new sale to celebrate Quakecon 2011. Over the next four days (August 4th - August 7th) there will be daily deals on Bethesda and id Software games plus other sales lasting the whole period (ending August 8th at 10 AM PDT). The first daily deal is on the Doom and Quake Complete Pack at 65% off ($30). Pre-purchasing RAGE will subtract another $10 from that pack, bringing it down to $20. All Doom and Quake titles are also available individually at 50% off, except Quake IV.

The Quakecon Pack 2011 is also on sale and contains all currently released (on Steam) Bethesda and id Software games. The pack starts at 86% off ($70). Pre-ordering Skyrim (which is now available!) gives a 20% discount, bringing the total to 89% off ($55). Pre-ordering RAGE gives a 30% discount, and preordering both games increases the discount to 40% off ($40). This is an amazing deal if you're missing even a few of the included games.

Brink is also playable for free this weekend and on sale for 50% off ($25). The Agents of Change DLC has been released too and can be acquired for free for the next two weeks (but you must own Brink).

Of course, what would a Steam sale be without new hats and other items for Team Fortress 2? Purchasing RAGE gives you The Wingstick, Quake IV gives the Original, Brink gives the Anger, Fallout: New Vegas gives a Pip-Boy, and Skyrim gives you the Tamrielic Relic.
